Release Engineer & Automation – Part time for student

Interning as a Release Engineer & Automation you will:

  • Be part of the team responsible for implementing and managing release processes for the progression of code in the development, test and production environments.
  • Work collaboratively with all participants involved in software development (developers, testers, project managers, scrum masters, product owners, supplier partners).
  • Contribute to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
  • Be responsible for reviewing the manual approach, constructing a automated/programmatic design and executing on the design
  • Work collaboratively with all participants involved in software development (developers, testers, project managers, scrum masters, product owners, and supplier partners).
  • Assist in managing projects and interdependencies with focus on release management activities
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
  • Build knowledge of business processes related to systems and the functional work area being supported.

What should you know / have:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 1-2 years of previous application development experience (can be from university).
  • Solid understanding of project management principles preferred.
  • Proven understanding of two object-oriented programming languages.
  • Proven understanding of structured query language
  • Proven understanding of troubleshooting methods
  • Proven understanding of at least one test automation toolset
  • Proven understanding of at least one orchestration toolset
  • Agile development understanding
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a productive and collaborative team member
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must, with experience in delivering presentations to peer groups
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality

What will you do / learn:

  • Learn how to maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
  • Learn how to maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
  • Learn how to prepare advanced reports using tableau
  • Learn how to develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms.
  • How to Design and Develop the code base to satisfy the automation solution
  • Build knowledge of business processes related to systems and the functional work area being supported.
