Nine teams, four NGOs and 24 hours of programming. The first Non-Profit Salesforce Hackathon took place from April 6th to 7th at our IT Hub. Two of the nine teams were comprised of people from MSD. Even though they didn’t win 1st prize, they did a great job and we congratulated their successful contribution to the event!
The goal of the hackathon was to develop different CRM solutions for the NGOs ADRA, The Open Society Fund, Centrum Paraple, and the Salvation Army. These NGOs came with different tasks such as a project management solution linked to donations with advanced features, a replacement for Google Forms, and something that links directly to Salesforce that can update data and sign people up for events.
After 24 hours of coding, countless coffees and energy drinks, piles of pizza, and no sleep, the teams came up with nine totally different, very complex, and challenging solutions. First prize went to a tool for email templates and distribution lists and everyone celebrated with a few drinks and beers. It was a great event and we hope to cooperate with the Salesforce community again in the future!
