Sport events have become very popular amongst our Prague colleagues. MSD employees have formed a soccer team to participate in the Sue Ryder Charity Cup, an annual tournament held at the famous Strahov Stadium benefitting elderly people and their families.
Not only was the MSD soccer team comprised of talented players across all divisions in Prague, but also several of our employees have volunteered to help run the charity event.
The team – led by Towfik Barakat – faced tough competition in the tournament, but they did not lose a single match in the group stage. The winning streak came to a sudden stop at the first elimination round where our ambassadors lost to the fifth-place finisher.
While the team’s performance is impressive, the main reason to be proud is the overall presence on and off the field. Our squad showed great spirit and sportsmanship to support a charitable cause, and that is what the effort was all about.
