Three students from Singapore embark on a 12-week internship in Prague

Three students from Nanyang Technical University, an autonomous research university in Singapore, were chosen to experience a 12-week internship at our company. (Fun fact: Nanyang Technological University was ranked the fastest-rising young university globally by Times Higher Education and is known for its eco-friendly and smart technology garden campus, which was named as one of the most beautiful school campuses in the world.)

The students’ goal was to understand the different business environments and to connect their academic knowledge with a real-life business setting. Each of them had an opportunity to work in a different division and their interim managers were impressed with how quickly the students became valuable team members.

The interns shared feedback on their experience:

“It was an interesting internship experience that opened my eyes to software development in the corporate world. Personally, I learned a lot about API development, maintenance, and operations. My colleagues were very helpful and always keen to explain difficult concepts to me. It was a great environment for both work and learning,” says Howard, a temporary member of API team.

“The overall experience was great. Before I came to MSD I couldn´t imagine how it feels to be a developer. I came as a junior in technologies and learned everything from a scratch; now I am much more confident in this area than before,” shares Gorian who helped Mobile App team with applications development.

“I came with no knowledge of Data Science. It seemed like a very attractive field for me. The internship gave me an opportunity to learn a Data Science approach. People were very helpful – I reached out to my team many times and they patiently advised me on what to do,” explains Lee whose main responsibility was to support Data Science team.

Congratulations to a successful outcome and special thanks to the teams who hosted these students.
