This position will be part of the International Research & Development IT organization which supports the areas of Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and Discovery/Pre-Clinical in the following regions: Latin America (LA), Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (AP).


The position will be operating from Europe, preferably from London, Brussels, Paris or Prague.


The incumbent will provide IT account management to the Research & Development business partners within the EMEA (Europe/Middle East/Africa) region.


The incumbent will be responsible for relationship management, will support the business and IT strategy, will drive the IT portfolio and innovation discussions and contribute to the delivery and execution of Research & Development IT programs.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for maintaining a close relationship with the Research & Development organization in EMEA
  • Support the Research & Development organization in EMEA from a technology perspective leveraging the MSD IT network and operating model
  • Accountable for translating the business strategies and needs into IT programs for complete alignment on investment portfolio
  • Accountable for pulling through IT strategies for greater business value over time (e.g., platforms, analytics, digital, innovation)
  • Responsible for change management, helping to accelerate technology adoption and value realization
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining Account plans for the Research & Development business partners in EMEA
  • Collaborate with Research & Development IT team members, IT Platform teams, country IT teams, as well as our Hubs in Branchburg, Singapore and Prague to deliver IT solutions
  • Participate in innovative experiments and identify potential areas for business process improvement to increase business partners productivity and improve their user experience
  • Responsible for running a project where applicable
  • Travel will be required (~25%)

Education and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Science or Computer related field

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Preferred:

  • At least 2 years of experience in IT account management, business architecture and analysis and/or client relationship management within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience and/or knowledge in at least one of these areas: Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance (business and/or technology exposure)
  • Knowledge of IT tools and assets
  • Experience in a GxP environment
  • Network leader; Focus on influence rather than control, creating a work environment based on trust, sharing and collaboration

Taleo is hosted by a third party vendor, Oracle, based in the United States. Oracle may also use additional third party vendors to process personal data. Oracle has contractually committed to protect Personal Information and to process it only as instructed by our company, including the destruction of the Personal Information at the end of the retention period. Oracle has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework for processing employee related Personal Information.
Access to Personal Information may be from within the country in which the individual to whom the data relates is based, or from any other country in which an authorized user of Taleo is based. While the country from which information is accessed may not have laws that protect Personal Information in the same way as the country in which you are based, all Personal Information in Taleo will be used in accordance with the Global Privacy Notice for Employment-Related purposes , any local privacy notices you receive, all applicable company policies with respect to the privacy and confidentiality of Personal Information, including, but not limited to our Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy and our Global Internet Privacy Policy and any additional requirements of the countries in which the employees to whom the data relate are based.

 

How do I update, correct or delete Personal Information in Taleo?

You have the right to access, rectify and delete your Personal Information that you provide and maintain in your Taleo Profile at any time. You can also request that the information be removed from our database by contacting the company’s Privacy Office. At any time you may decide no longer to use Taleo, raise a concern or make a complaint about your privacy or use or sharing of Personal Information about you by contacting the company’s Privacy Office.
