Increased risks in both the information security (e.g. cyber threats, malware, etc.) and the regulated areas have required that staff possessing such skills is fully embedded within the IT organization. The enterprise is now dependent on these security and compliance experts for identifying, escalating and remediating such IT Risks in a timely and efficient manner. Also, emerging technologies like cloud, mobility and data analytics require strong IT Risk and Compliance early involvement.

Leadership:
The leader must be an expert in the appropriate application and use of segmentation processes and technologies in one or more of the various areas mentioned (Network, Identity, Data and Application). You must be a team player capable of influencing others. You must be capable of rapid and disciplined decision-making, and will need to take ownership of projects and deliverables. Effective collaboration with stakeholders (internal and external to the division and company) is essential.

Enterprise Application Security Engineering:
Direct the design, development, and deployment of segmentation and security controls to protect MSD's critical applications and information while ensuring compliance with MSD’s corporate security policies and regulatory/legal requirements. Coordinate with other IT and Business organizations in collaboration with the ITRMS Information Risk Liaisons, MSD’s Privacy Office, HR, and Global Security to understand the risk appetite of the organization and how that would enable segmentation approaches in key areas such as Manufacturing, Research Laboratories, Data Center and High Risk Countries and Regions. Responsible for the development and integration of segmentation requirements into MSD's SDLC to ensure appropriate protection throughout the lifetime of the program. 


Enterprise Infrastructure Security Engineering:
Work closely with the Global Technology Operations organization and ITRMS Information Risk Liaisons to ensure segmentation solutions are implemented into global infrastructure including cloud services, mobility solutions, unified communications, next generation networks, email/messaging systems, endpoints and directory services and that these services are protected from data loss or disruption. Direct and lead the team to design, engineer and deploy infrastructure segmentation controls. Collaborate with vendors, partners and standards setting bodies to define and communicate requirements. Collaborate with IT Infrastructure leaders to ensure security technologies are properly configured and Integrated into the infrastructure. Provide detailed direction and designs for ensuring segmentation controls operating across the enterprise (end to end) are properly deployed and producing data to support the risk management function.

Specific focus areas for the role will be on data center segmentation solutions, geographic segmentation, manufacturing/lab environment segmentation (ICS/SCADA/IOT), and third party segmentation solutions and approaches. Additional focus areas will be on Network Access Control solutions for wired and wireless networks, IDS/IPS solutions and client segmentation approaches.

The role requires a close partnership with the both the ITRMS Strategy and Portfolio Planning functions and GTO Portfolio Planning functions to determine, prioritize and secure funding for the most appropriate segmentation technologies to be deployed based on current risk and corporate strategy.  

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with preference in computer science, electrical engineering, or other technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an information technology field with at least 5 of those years in an information security, network or other enterprise IT solution engineering role.
  • Experience working with data center computing environments (premise and cloud)
  • Experience with networking protocols and architecture of a global LAN/WAN.
  • Solid leadership & collaboration skills, able to collaborate with colleagues in both domestic and international locations.


Preferred:

  • CISSP/CISM Certification, or other Networking Solution Certifications
  • Experience with Cisco ACI, VMWare NSX and Microsegmentation solutions.
  • Experience with endpoint security solutions
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical company or other highly regulated environment.
  • Experience working in a multinational corporation.
  • Experience with project management, portfolio planning and adhering to IT project budgets

What Personal Information is used and how long is it retained?

Taleo* uses Personal Information such as your name, contact information and other information necessary for the application process. Additionally, some countries utilize third party recruiters that will also have access to the information you input into Taleo. Taleo is hosted by a third party vendor, Oracle, based in the United States. Oracle may also use additional third party vendors to process personal data. Oracle has contractually committed to protect Personal Information and to process it only as instructed by our company, including the destruction of the Personal Information at the end of the retention period. Oracle has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework for processing employee related Personal Information.
Access to Personal Information may be from within the country in which the individual to whom the data relates is based, or from any other country in which an authorized user of Taleo is based. While the country from which information is accessed may not have laws that protect Personal Information in the same way as the country in which you are based, all Personal Information in Taleo will be used in accordance with the Global Privacy Notice for Employment-Related purposes , any local privacy notices you receive, all applicable company policies with respect to the privacy and confidentiality of Personal Information, including, but not limited to our Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy and our Global Internet Privacy Policy and any additional requirements of the countries in which the employees to whom the data relate are based.

 

How do I update, correct or delete Personal Information in Taleo?

You have the right to access, rectify and delete your Personal Information that you provide and maintain in your Taleo Profile at any time. You can also request that the information be removed from our database by contacting the company’s Privacy Office. At any time you may decide no longer to use Taleo, raise a concern or make a complaint about your privacy or use or sharing of Personal Information about you by contacting the company’s Privacy Office.
