As part of that team, you will be helping us launch our new IT Global Innovation Center focused on developing and applying advanced capabilities in information sciences, information security, mobility, social media and big data.

The incumbent has responsibility for Technical Planning of infrastructure related initiatives that support MSD's business strategies.
The Technical Planner collaborates across the GTO (Global Technology Operations) organization and relevant business and IT areas to effectively coordinate execution of projects with the program managers and owners.
The incumbent will be accountable to understand program or project technologies and identify technical dependencies and risks for programs. This individual combines the expertise of Project Management, Technology knowledge, and Vendor Management.
The technical planner engages with various engineering and technical teams that design, develop, implements, and delivers IT infrastructure solutions; gathers resources from various Internal infrastructure areas, and External Vendors; ensures MSD technology standards compliance; and identifies feasibility plans and opportunities for assigned programs.

The position will interact with several levels in the organization and will be critical in establishing good relationships with numerous regional IT areas and with other global functions.


Primary job responsibilities include:

Under the management of the GTO organization, the technical planner becomes accountable for delivery of assigned infrastructure projects. Integral to this activity is the development, implementation, and constant administration of sound project management disciplines in accordance with leading practices and MSD processes.
• Accountable for realization of project, business, cost and schedule objectives.
• Responsible for management of highly complex Infrastructure programs or business initiatives consisting of multiple related projects.
• Oversight of IT solution execution; responsible for working with the solution managers to ensure coordination; ensures that the correct supply-side and architecture staff is made available to support the project.
• Collaboration on the development of business cases to secure the approval and resources required to pursue the development of new capabilities, manage the development of requirement specifications related to new capabilities and guide the efforts of project teams chartered to implement these same capabilities.
• Management and coordination across multiple technical projects within the portfolio.
• Monitoring execution plans, resource deployment and overall coordination efforts to ensure that the overall program and subordinate projects are completed on schedule, on budget and on scope; management of pre/post approval of changes impacting scope, schedule and cost according to the agreed upon change process.
• Responsible for components of: progress communications, schedule management, resource management, finance management, quality management, scope management and control management as they relate to the overall assigned projects.
• Partner with affected stakeholders to ensure agreement on scope and priorities.
• Establish strategies, coach and mentor all levels of the organization to project management skills across the organization.
• Accountable for ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Education Minimum Requirement:
BSc Degree required in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

Required Experience and Skills:
• Proven 5+ years record of proficiencies associated with consulting and business analysis on medium and large sized projects.
• Ability to build, work and manage global and diverse teams and vendors
• Excellent understanding of System Life Cycle methodologies.
• Prior hands on experience developing the full SDLC deliverable set.
• Proven Project Management/Portfolio Management-resource planning
• Skilled in the enabling integrated methodologies and tools including: Change Management, Knowledge Management, Portfolio Management, Lean Six Sigma, Behavior Coaching and Consequence Management and Inclusion Behaviors
• Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
• Excellent facilitation, consultation, and Influence skills including experience with outsourced service providers
• Excellent skills using IT applications to organize and analyses data
• Embraces, practices, and exemplifies the principles and capabilities outlined in the MSD Leadership Behaviors
• Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with all levels of business leadership and operational teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple diverse resources and establish training and development plans.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically

Taleo is hosted by a third party vendor, Oracle, based in the United States. Oracle may also use additional third party vendors to process personal data. Oracle has contractually committed to protect Personal Information and to process it only as instructed by our company, including the destruction of the Personal Information at the end of the retention period. Oracle has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework for processing employee related Personal Information.
Access to Personal Information may be from within the country in which the individual to whom the data relates is based, or from any other country in which an authorized user of Taleo is based. While the country from which information is accessed may not have laws that protect Personal Information in the same way as the country in which you are based, all Personal Information in Taleo will be used in accordance with the Global Privacy Notice for Employment-Related purposes , any local privacy notices you receive, all applicable company policies with respect to the privacy and confidentiality of Personal Information, including, but not limited to our Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy and our Global Internet Privacy Policy and any additional requirements of the countries in which the employees to whom the data relate are based.

 

How do I update, correct or delete Personal Information in Taleo?

You have the right to access, rectify and delete your Personal Information that you provide and maintain in your Taleo Profile at any time. You can also request that the information be removed from our database by contacting the company’s Privacy Office. At any time you may decide no longer to use Taleo, raise a concern or make a complaint about your privacy or use or sharing of Personal Information about you by contacting the company’s Privacy Office.
