What is the job about?


As a DevOps Engineer, you will be a member of a product development team and your job will be to bring competency and knowledge to improve the operational efficiency and processes of our product, improve monitoring and alerting - and help in creating an environment where the product team is always aware of the situation in the production environment - especially if something goes wrong. You will be support a key product used in Clinical Trials: this means you will have direct impact on the evolution of the drug and people's life.


As part of your daily job you will have the following primary responsibilities:


  • Be part of a product team - participate in and contribute to the entire lifecycle of the product development - discovery/refinement, design, build and operate - with a higher focus on the latter
  • Write code – Together with the team, build and improve continuous delivery pipelines and automate as much as possible around operations to reduce the need for manual, administrative work
  • Operate – help the team in getting awareness of operational or user reported issues and problems through...
  • Incident management
  • Drive incidents through the process from analysis through prioritization and solution to deploying fixes, resolving the incident and improving the system and processes to reduce the chances of similar incidents in the future
  • Tier 3 support
  • Help in the analysis and understanding of of user reported incidents
  • Find ways how to reduce non-incident user reports - e.g. update and extend support scenarios, find opportunities for improving the UX etc.
  • Monitoring and alerting
  • Help in setup and configuration of the right level hardware and system level monitoring and alerting and help defining a process where alerts are valid and they are addressed in a timely manner based on severity (see incident management)
  • Help the team to identify problems before they are reported or noticed by users or customers

What we need is a person who:


  • Has experience with operations support for applications in business environment
  • Has experience working with automation tools (do Jenkins, Docker and Ansible sound familiar?)
  • Has experience with setting up and configuring monitoring tools
  • Has programming skills especially for scripting and automation
  • Has working knowledge of application lifecycle management continuous improvement
  • Is proficient in English
  • Is familiar with DevOps, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Delivery and tools around these concepts and practices
  • Has good written communication skills - both for email communication and documentations
  • Knows SQL in order to be able to analyze production issues


We will be happy if you know or heard of one of these:


  • Databases (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc.)
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure etc.)
  • Knows ITIL processes, CMDB management
  • Application Testing and test automation
  • Application development and debugging (we use JavaScript for backend and web and swift for mobile devices)
  • Scrum

What Personal Information is used and how long is it retained?

Taleo* uses Personal Information such as your name, contact information and other information necessary for the application process. Oracle has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework for processing employee related Personal Information.
Access to Personal Information may be from within the country in which the individual to whom the data relates is based, or from any other country in which an authorized user of Taleo is based. While the country from which information is accessed may not have laws that protect Personal Information in the same way as the country in which you are based, all Personal Information in Taleo will be used in accordance with the Global Privacy Notice for Employment-Related purposes , any local privacy notices you receive, all applicable company policies with respect to the privacy and confidentiality of Personal Information, including, but not limited to our Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy and our Global Internet Privacy Policy and any additional requirements of the countries in which the employees to whom the data relate are based.

 

How do I update, correct or delete Personal Information in Taleo?

You have the right to access, rectify and delete your Personal Information that you provide and maintain in your Taleo Profile at any time. You can also request that the information be removed from our database by contacting the company’s Privacy Office. At any time you may decide no longer to use Taleo, raise a concern or make a complaint about your privacy or use or sharing of Personal Information about you by contacting the company’s Privacy Office.
